About me
I am a sixth and seventh grade teacher at North Polk Middle School. I teach a required Technology class for all students, while also doing elective Space Exploration and Film and Broadcasting classes. I began my teaching career before the Avengers had even formed, so I have had a variety of experiences which include special education, literacy, and social studies. This wide ranging background has helped me bring a variety of topics and experiences to my current Technology class so that students hopefully get exposed to lots of different projects and skills that will help them across their academic day, not just in my class. I was lucky enough to be nominated for the Sypersma Leadership and Innovation Award at last year's ITEC Conference for creating a unique and engaging curriculum for my classes that didn't just rely on coding, but tried to build connections to other core classes. I hope to continue innovating each year and finding new ways to prepare kids for the ever changing world of technology.
