About me
Haley Roberts is a seventh-year educator at Lenox Community School District, where she teaches 7th and 8th grade English Language Arts as well as middle and high school computer science. She has spent the past five years incorporating computer science into her teaching and is passionate about finding creative ways to connect technology, literacy, and hands-on learning.
Haley also mentors Lenox’s two FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) robotics teams, providing students with opportunities to explore engineering, coding, collaboration, and problem-solving beyond the traditional classroom.
Her passion for interdisciplinary, hands-on learning is especially evident in the Storybot project, an annual project with her 7th grade ELA students that combines storytelling, creativity, computer science, and robotics. Through this project, students bring their stories to life by designing and coding robotic characters connected to their writing.
Haley believes students learn best when they have opportunities to create, experiment, collaborate, and see their ideas come to life. She enjoys sharing practical, engaging ideas that help other educators bring hands-on learning into their own classrooms—regardless of the subject they teach.
